After almost twenty years, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM finally premiered in Japan on January 26, 2024, and a U.S. premiere is soon to follow in Los Angeles and New York on March 31, 2024. The film had a very successful first premiere in Japan, leading it to become the highest grossing film in the franchise. Though it was in development since 2006, unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances led to its postponement until now.
Gundam SEED FREEDOM is a sequel to the original Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny series. Most of the main cast reprised their roles, and the voices for our protagonists Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne (Hoshi Souichiro and Rie Tanaka) will be in attendance at the U.S. premiere in Los Angeles at the Regal LA Live theatre. Dub producers Michael Sinterniklaas and Stephanie Sheh will also be in attendance at Los Angeles. The New York premiere will have English cast member for Lunamaria Hawke in attendance as well as a commentary video from Director Mitsuo Fukuda.

Tickets will go on sale on March 12, with two different tiers. Standard tickets will come with a commemorative pass, lanyard, shopper bag, Rising Freedom paper headband, and Immortal Justice paper headband. The Premium ticket will include all the Standard ticket benefits along with a commemorative foil art print, a HG 1/144 STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM, and illustration card. Tickets for the Los Angeles site will be available on Eventbrite, while tickets for the New York site will be available through the Japan Society page. The New York site will also screen the dub version of the film on April 1st.
