Iconic Events Releasing and HIDIVE have announced that a new 4K restoration of the classic anime film Ninja Scroll will return to theaters across the United States and Canada for a limited run on October 4, 5, and 7. The release marks the companies’ second collaboration on the film following the successful 30th anniversary theatrical re-release in 2024. A new 4K trailer has also been unveiled to promote the upcoming screenings.

Originally written and directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri and released in 1993, Ninja Scroll is widely regarded as one of the most influential anime films ever made. The new restoration was produced by Sentai under Kawajiri’s supervision and made its world premiere earlier this year at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. The project involved a full 4K scan of the original 35mm film negative, along with extensive restoration and color correction work to create a high-quality archival master.
