The upcoming TV anime Kaiju Girl Caramelise, based on Spica Aoki’s romantic comedy manga, is set to premiere in July 2026. Alongside the announcement, the production team revealed the anime’s second key visual and trailer, as well as details about its opening and ending theme songs and the artists performing them.

Originally serialized in Monthly Comic Alive since 2018, the manga has sold more than 230,000 copies. The story follows high school student Kuroe Akaishi, who develops feelings for the most popular boy in school, Arata Minami. However, whenever her emotions run high, a giant kaiju named Harugon suddenly appears in Tokyo. Blending shojo romance with giant monster chaos, Kaiju Girl Caramelise offers a unique twist on the traditional romantic comedy formula.

The anime’s opening theme song has been confirmed as “KAIJU GIRL” by METANICK. Written by Aira Yuuki and composed and arranged by Yuki Honda, the track reflects the series’ unique blend of youthful romance and giant monster chaos.

Meanwhile, the ending theme will be “OtomenoHonki” by HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily. Known for their sweet and emotional pop sound, HoneyWorks’ song highlights the romantic experiences and friendships of Kuroe and her classmates throughout the series.

Comments from METANICK (AKARI):
This is AKARI from METANICK. I’m truly honored to have been given the opportunity to perform the opening theme song. I sang this song with all of Kuroe’s insecurities, romantic feelings, and her desire to change. Amid the
heavy, intense sound, we expressed a wide range of “emotions.” I hope you enjoy the music along with the anime.

■Ending Theme
HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily “OtomenoHonki”
Lyrics/Music/Arranged: HoneyWorks, MARUMOCHI
Comments from HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily
Nice to meet you! We are HaKoniwalily. This is our favorite series that we’ve bought every volume of the manga—so we’re truly excited to be assigned to work on it. The lyrics reflect Kuroe’s struggle with feeling different from those around her, her clumsy attempts to express her feelings, and her gradual realization that she’s falling in love—making this a song that resonates more deeply the further the story progresses. We hope you’re into this song along with the anime!
