Violet Evergarden is a Japanese light novel series by Kana Akatsuki that was later adapted into a popular anime by Kyoto Animation. It follows Violet, a former child soldier who struggles to understand emotions after the war ends. She becomes an “Auto Memory Doll,” a professional writer who helps others put their feelings into letters. Through her work, Violet gradually learns about love, loss, and what it means to be human, especially as she reflects on the words “I love you,” spoken to her by someone important during the war. The series is known for its emotional storytelling, beautiful animation, and heartfelt themes.
